Beaupré, November 15th, 2018

The Certified camps of Quebec association (ACQ) has awarded Camp Edphy International an Award of Excellence, in the Development and Innovation category (summer camps), at its 29th annual Gala, which was held November 14th at the Château Mont-Sainte-Anne.

The camp, located in Val-Morin, won the award for the acquisition and major upgrade of its nature center, allowing it to be in operation all year long, and so to ensure the sustainability of the organization, welcoming, in addition to summer campers, an international clientele.

Having realized how the obsolete infrastructures that were built in 1965 largely impacted their clients’ satisfaction as well as the company’s reputation, the Edphy team, owners since 2017, put into place a master plan in order to redress the situation.

Major investments were done for the construction and renovation of buildings and existing installations, a value upgrade and the implementation of animation platforms, the development of forest trails and landscaping of the site.

“Our ability to receive groups annually allows us to continue, more importantly, our international development,” says François Rioux, President of Edphy. “What makes the Edphy experience a unique one for campers attending our summer camp/nature center is the presence of children from all around the world,” says Marilyse Richard-Robert, Executive Director.

The nature center, once again being in the hands of Edphy International, allows thousands of children from here and elsewhere to enjoy outdoor quality activities and also allows the Edphy team to be creative in the development of a personalized service offer to better answer the needs of their clients.

The Award of Excellence in the Development and Innovation category rewards the efforts of a camp that has shown innovation in the development of new facilities, infrastructures or its environment, as well as in the recruitment or retention of its customers.

The Certified camps of Quebec association, brings together nearly 300 organizations, operating summer camps, day camps, nature centers, camps for families and high-quality group programs throughout the province.

Camps that are members of the ACQ offer a safe environment and a high standard of animation. Parents and children can visit www.camps.qc.ca to learn more about camps and to choose the one corresponding to their needs. Certified camps, a safe bet for our children!
