Specialty camps

Additional fees of $65 per week

While enjoying a very active week in the Multisports program, campers are also offered the opportunity to develop other interests or discover new ones, by participating in one of our specialty camps. Two hours per day are devoted to these activities, for a total of 10 hours per week.

* Please note that 5-day stays are offered between June 25th and August 17th, 2018 for all our specialized camps, except swimming lessons. Places are limited, so you can also place your child on a waiting list if the specialty of your choice is no longer available by contacting us at info@edphy.com. As soon as a place is free, we will contact you and you will have 24 hours to confirm your decision.

For sports lovers

Lunchtime yoga - ages 4 to 6

This activity, held every lunch hour for 25 minutes, allows children to relax and release muscle tension to start the afternoon on a good note.

Swimming lessons - ages 4 to 12

This aquatic program allows participants to have fun while climbing the Canadian Red Cross Society ladder.  Our specialized swimming instructors will provide each child with a progress card at the end of the course.

Gymnastics - ages 7 to 12

This skill and development program is intended to work on technical gymnastic abilities and the overall psychomotor development of the participants. Ground path, beams, trampoline and many other devices offer several challenges for everyone!

Please be aware that this camp is offered at our Rosemere campus and requires bus transportation.

CrossFit and healthy eating - ages 11 to 15

This program, created by a Kinesiologist, is built to sensitize children about the benefits of moving on a daily basis. The program develops coordination, flexibility, and endurance. The sessions are completed with a small cooking workshop of healthy snacks. Two hours a day are dedicated to this activity.

Tennis - ages 9 to 15

The aim of this program is to develop motor skills, acquire a few techniques and a sense of strategy, all in a fun and cooperative environment.  A great way to awaken the Milos Raonic within!

 

For the artists

Artistic creations - ages 4 to 6

The specialized camp Artistic creations, which the program is elaborated over four weeks, allows participants aged 4 to 6 to develop their creativity, to express themselves, to communicate, to represent reality in their own way after seeing the work of others, amongst other children, throughout different artistic activities. Their artistic presentations will be shown to all parents on Friday.

Arts and crafts - ages 7 to 10

The Arts specialized camp, in which the content is elaborated for a two-week stay, allows participants to develop their creativity and to explore their artistic talents. Accompanied by a qualified specialist, they are invited to implement their creative thinking and explore the use of different materials and techniques, done individually or in a group. An exhibition of the young artists’ works will be held for the parents on the Friday

Performing arts - ages 7 to 12

This specialty camp introduces young acrobats, actors, and dancers to different forms of preforming arts. The program prioritizes popular circus activities such as walking on a tightrope, trapeze and juggling, as well as different dance styles and drama games. Two hours a day are dedicated to this activity.

Magic - ages 7 to 15

This program taps into kids' imagination and theatrical skills and reveals the real secrets of the magicians. Not only will they learn about close-up magic, mentalism, gimmicks and much more but they will also learn the real tips to showcase their magic properly. A short close-up magic presentation will be presented for the parents at the end of the week.

In addition, during the week, a magic show is included in the package. The kids of the program will also get a chance to ask questions to the professional magician who will visit the camp so that they can further their knowledge.

In collaboration with Magician Marc Trudel, Canadian Champion of Magic and the first recipient of the Grand Prix de Magie Michel Cailloux, this activity is not to be missed! Marc has become a master in the art of teaching magic.  His web series "Les coulisses de la magie", produced by Radio-Canada, has been viewed more than 6 million times. He is also the author of numerous works, such as the popular youth series "Albert le Curieux" winner of the 2016 Hackmatack Award.

 

For science buffs

Sciences - ages 7 to 12

Exploring the world of science and technology, this program offers a host of interactive experiments and exciting demonstrations. The participants’ favourites will be presented to the parents on the Friday.

For verbal linguistics

English lessons / 7 to 15 years old

This innovative and interactive program, developed by a certified teacher and in accordance with the Québec Education Program, allows children to expand on concepts learnt during the school year and to develop basic skills in English as a second language. This English program focuses primarily on oral practice and the incorporation of notions taught such as grammar, vocabulary and reading lessons. Students will participate in interactive games both in and outside of the classroom in order to perfect the English language.

A placement test is used to form two groups (beginners and intermediates - this program is not intended for advanced or bilingual participants), which allows the teacher to adapt his or her teaching content in taking into account the needs and skills of children. At the end of the session, students will create a showcase portfolio to demonstrate what they have learnt, enjoyed etc. This portfolio as well as an evaluation grid will be useful to show parents and track student progress in the future.
