Responsibilities

  • Assist the assistant coordinator in planning and organizing summer day camp operations
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of animation staff
  • Motivating, guiding and evaluating your team
  • Oversee the general conduct of camp activities to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the objectives, considerations and procedures set out in the general operations guide.
  • Intervene with children who demonstrate adaptation, behavioral and/or special needs difficulties
  • Intervening in situations of crisis, conflict and bullying
  • Develop tools to improve and maintain the behavior of the children he works with
  • Advise group leaders on what to do with their group
  • Follows up with parents and management

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the day camp environment
  • Animation experience (management experience an asset)
  • Be a student or graduate of a related program (special education, psycho-education, teaching, etc.)
  • Be autonomous, responsible, creative and adaptable
  • Enjoy working in a team
  • Possess proof of successful completion of the DAFA training or be available to attend a training course to obtain it
  • Hold first-aid and CPR certification, issued by an organization recognized by the Association des camps certifiés du Québec, or be available to participate in training to obtain it.
  • Have no legal impediments related to employment
  • Good command of French and English
