What is your policy regarding the application of sunscreen? The Association des camps du Québec suggests asking the child to apply the sunscreen themselves, with verbal guidance, or to have a friend help them. The goal is to prevent any compromising situations for the counsellors and to protect the integrity of the children. Therefore, this practice has been made mandatory at all of our sites. However, the counsellors ensure that the children are properly covered with sunscreen and provide support if they have difficulty applying it themselves. We also ask parents to apply sunscreen to their child before dropping them off at camp. -
What measures are in place during extreme heat days? Concerned about the health of the children attending all our sites as well as the well-being of our staff, here are the precautions we take to reduce risks:- Frequent water breaks to ensure hydration;
- Shortened activity periods – or replaced – to reduce physical effort;
- Addition of water games to cool down the skin;
- Moving activities to shaded areas and indoors, in available air-conditioned spaces;
- Frequent visits to the pool, when possible.

Sleepaway Camp

Can I contact my child during their stay? One of the main objectives of the summer camp experience is to completely break children out of their usual routine and help them detach from their family bubble for a short period, in order to foster their independence and autonomy. Attending camp is an opportunity for them to share unforgettable moments with other children, learn to assert themselves, and make their own choices, all under the guidance of an experienced team. To this end, visits and phone calls are not permitted during their stay. However, parents are encouraged to write to their children. Campers eagerly await the delivery of mail! There are three ways to send correspondence:
- Write letters in advance and submit them to the camp management at the beginning of the stay;
- Write and mail the letter(s) to the following address:
1200, 14th Avenue, Val-Morin (Québec) J0T 2R0 – be sure to send it early enough for your child to receive it during their stay, despite delivery delays. - Write a letter and send by email to [email protected].

Can I visit my child during their stay? A stay at a summer camp offers children not only a special connection with nature but also a certain detachment from their parents. This is a time when they take control of their daily life and grow alongside other children, fostering their development—independence, cooperation, and open-mindedness. This is what distinguishes a camp experience from a day camp and gives the stay its full value.
For all these reasons, parents are not allowed on the site, except for arrivals and departures. Note. Visits are allowed for participants staying at the camp for more than two weeks on Sundays between each session, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. We kindly ask that you notify the camp coordinator by email ([email protected]) at least 24 hours in advance and remain outside the camp site during the visit. -
How are rainy days handled at the sleep away camp?
Participants can enjoy each day at camp, regardless of the weather. Our tents and various indoor facilities (double gymnasium, exercise room, pool, and multipurpose rooms) not only provide shelter for all campers in case of rain but also allow us to hold many of our activities. Our counsellors also have plenty of ideas to brighten up gray days and keep everyone engaged and entertained. -
How are the groups organized? Groups are formed based on the children's age and their chosen program. The staff-to-child ratios follow the guidelines set by the Association des camps du Québec:
