Press release – Les cuisines d’Edphy launch

Healthy, ready-to-eat meals for the Laurentian and North Shore community

While awaiting news in regards to resuming operations in 2021, Edphy International, a leader in day camps and high-end summer camps in the Laurentian’s, has chosen to use its resources to reinvent itself and adapt its mission to serve its community. Renowned camp Edphy chef Yannick Gouin is in charge of the new Les cuisines d’Edphy’s initiative: an essential home catering service offered since January 11th, in particular to seniors, both in residences and at home, daycares and families.

Highlights

With the objective of continuing to honor its primary mission, Edphy International is committed to donating all profits to its Foundation, which aims to make the outdoors accessible to children, while encouraging the development of young people from here and elsewhere.

Les cuisines d’Edphy offers a delivery service from Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts to Boisbriand, via Saint-Jérôme, with its menu that combines fresh produce and classic flavors.

Specially designed for seniors and families, Les cuisines d’Edphy offers a healthy, comforting and tasty menu inspired by the Quebec region.

The menu offers a nice variety of soups and over a dozen main dishes ranging from beef bourguignon to cannelloni with ricotta and spinach. Each dish is accompanied by a dessert of Chef Yannick’s choice. The menu also includes pasta sauces, from bolognese to classic Alfredo.

An initiative that meets the communities needs

The initiative has been very successful since its creation, as Edphy delivers more than 150 meals each week and demand is set to increase with the agreements that are established, especially with child care centres.

Initially, Edphy camps wanted to do something to counter isolation and make daily life easier for the elders, people with reduced mobility and people living alone. By creating this stand-out service, it quickly gained popularity and the offer was extended to other clienteles such as families. Les cuisines d’Edphy thus make an important contribution to the development of youth while making a difference in the community.

In a context where the organization’s finances – like those of other industries – have been severely touched with the suspension of summer camp operations in 2020, and while government guidelines are still pending for the next season, Edphy International’s primary mission, which promotes the integration of a healthy lifestyle, takes on its full meaning. It is with this in mind that Les cuisines d’Edphy not only offers a healthy and comforting alternative to take-out meals, but also helps raise awareness in the community about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Quotes

“Despite the difficulties we’ve been through in the past year, it is a privilege to continue to support the Laurentian community, specifically our elders and families, thanks to Les cuisines d’Edphy’s initiative. We continue to support our organisations mission by collecting funds which will allow children from disadvantaged areas to experience a camp stay in nature as well as participate in sports activities.” – Guillaume Mallette, Director of development, Edphy International

“Cooking is done from the heart. There is nothing more gratifying for me than to know that my meals will end up on the tables of our community elders. With all the challenges that we are faced with at the moment, if I can bring them a little bit of comfort, and at a low cost, I can officially say: mission accomplished!” Yannick Gouin, Executive chef, Edphy International
